Lovely weather today and plenty people out to enjoy it. We finally got round to thinning out the self seeded oaks in Foxburrow at the Gunton Church lane entrance, one was saved for the church for a Prayer Tree the others were cut up and a habitat created, several thicker pieces were kept for posts and railings. Also, today, we used the logs left behind from when Waveney Norse reduced the height of a dead sycamore last week, 3 were used near our coffee table as seats and the rest were used in "wood henge" as seats. Our 420 free trees from the Woodland Trust, that arrived on Tuesday, were "heeled in" in the nursery and will hopefully be planted out in the wood soon. Finally, a regular job at this time of year, several people were digging up Alexanders from around the wood.
With coffee today we had some cakes made by Ollie and hot sausage rolls from Martin and Marie for their dog Murphy's birthday. Woof woof!
