Today we started off feeling that there wasn't really too much to do but by coffee time we were impressed by what we had done. We installed two new bench seats, one by the coffee table and one at the top of the PwH field as we felt this was a good place for sunsets! The repaired A table in the wildflower meadow was painted. A lot of work was done on the pond, strimming around the area and trying to get more duck weed out, the pond level is down at the moment but we plan to put in new piping that will hopefully help this. We cleared around most of the newly planted trees, green alkanet was cleared from an area down Moore's Lane and a new fence on the corner of the B&B area was started and will be finished off next week. "Colin the Strimmer" was let loose on the B&B area - under close scrutiny of the ladies, who were tidying up the area.
With coffee today we had hot sausage rolls, strawberries and cream on scones and lovely homemade cakes to celebrate John & Julie's BIG birthdays !! One word - SCRUMPTIOUS.
David reminded the group that we would be working in Foxburrow wood on Thurs Aug 25th, clearing ditches and sweeping the boardwalks. He also reminded us that we should carry with us the "Emergency" instructions that had been handed out last week. He gave us details of the Bingo Fish & Chips evening and of the Snape Christmas outing.
