Today was nearly all to do with clearing up after storm "Doris" but firstly we welcomed a new member, Kate, who was to prove quite an asset later when it came to shifting logs! Most of the group went down to the wildflower meadow to cut up and tidy up the trees that had been blown over, using some of it for fencing, some for path edging and stacking the rest for use later. A few guys sorted out the uneven "woodhenge" logs, replacing some with new fresh logs and some were just sawn flat, hopefully the children can now play on them without fear of fallen off! A few of us tidied up some of the other trees brought down around the wood, using some of the larger logs, left over from Tuesday morning's work, as path edging on the main path.
With coffee today, we had hot sausage rolls and cakes from Geoff to celebrate his birthday.
David mentioned several things today, the final balance for the Cotswold's holiday should have been paid by now. David & Barry met with Waveney Norse on Monday to discuss how the council changes would affect us and a few other items. Basically, the council changes will not affect us or our relationship with WN. Apparently, some dead rats had been found near the pond in the wood, which led David to wonder if rat poison had been put down. The farmer has not sprayed the field yet so that was not the source.
