Today we all worked in Foxburrow Wood, we had several jobs to do, some we completed others we will finish later. We replaced a way-mark post that had been pulled out, this time we used postcrete to secure it. We started covering over the old wire mesh on the boardwalks with new mesh, this job will continue in a fortnight's time. We had a go at tidying up some of the smaller ponds, removing as much dead wood and litter as possible - a lovely muddy, smelly job which seemed to attract young Will. We cleared two large areas of scrub and marked out where we will plant some new trees in a fortnights time. We checked and cleared the main ditch and we did a general litter pick.
We had our refreshments outside Yvon and Jenny's and once again they provided lots of chairs for us. Andrea provided lots of lovely hot homemade sausage rolls and vegetarian treats in aid of her birthday recently - delicious!
David reminded those going on the Cotswold trip to have their final balance in by March 1st. David will be away next week so he went through the work that needs doing in Gunton Wood for next Thursday, he also mentioned that in a 2 weeks time we will split into two groups, one working in Gunton Wood and one working in Foxburrow Wood as there are a couple of jobs from today that need finishing off.
