A lovely day for working today but not too many people out, just 18 of us. I guess holidays are taking their toll but young Max helped numbers by bringing both his mum (Liz) AND his dad (James) this week.
Barry took a group to the pond to try and clear weeds from it, the weeds have really taken hold in the last 2 weeks. We removed the broken seat/table near the Stubbs Wood entrance, the legs had rotted making it unstable, this will be fixed and replaced soon. The Stubbs Wood entrance was getting overgrown so a group cleared that again. The mowers were out on the wildflower meadow giving it a second finer cut, we may do another cut in November. Finally, the main path leading down to Pleasurewood Hills had become overgrown and narrow in places, so it was strimmed and trimmed to open it up again.
With coffee today we had a lovely selection of cakes from some leftover money that Mark had given us for his birthday cakes a few weeks ago, and Mark wasn't even here today! Is this the start of a new trend, buying cakes on 2 weeks for your birthday - I think I'm going to like this trend :-)
No David today but John reminded the group that next week's working in Foxburrow had been postponed to Sept 8th and that the Bingo Fish & Chips event on Sept 8th was now sold out.
