Today we split into two groups, one working in Gunton Wood and the other finishing off laying stones on the path in Foxburrow Wood. The work in Foxburrow had started Wednesday morning and was expected to last until Saturday morning, we had 6 one ton bags of type1 stones to spread over the muddiest parts of the path. Wednesday morning we managed to use over 4 of the bags and this morning the job was finished off. Although, David has ordered another bag for later. The Gunton group, did chipping paths down the bottom of Moore's lane near the Stubbs Wood entrance. We also finished clearing the main path of leaves and continued rebuilding the fence around the "wild wood". We welcomed a new member, Andrew, to our group today. Andrew did actually start yesterday at Foxburrow and he worked there again this morning but today was his first "coffee & cake" with the full group.
With coffee today we had a lovely selection of cakes from Marion to celebrate a BIG birthday coming up next Wednesday. Personally, I don't think 21 is that big nowadays :-)
David explained what had been happening at Foxburrow and that as the work was finished for now, there would be a Saturday workparty in Foxburrow this week to continue tree felling work - meet 9am at Crome Walk. He also mentioned that 5 tickets for Snape had come available and if nobody wanted them he would try and cancel them this afternoon. As, yet another person had tripped over the edging stakes, we would try and do something about them next week - hammer them in further or cut them off.
