Today we all worked in Foxburrow wood, a lovely sunny morning for working. We had several jobs to do there, so quickly split into small gangs to tackle the work. We had a ton of stones to be put on the muddiest parts of the path through the wood, we had about 30 trees to plant out in two areas, the ladies spent the morning pulling up brambles from the bluebell area. Another group were finishing off putting new wire mesh on top of the boardwalks and yet another group fitted a new handrail to the steps at the end of Gainsborough Drive, they also dressed the steps with a new layer of stones.
Yet again we had our refreshments outside Yvon and Jenny's and yet again they provided lots of chairs for us, making it feel like a garden party. Terry provided lots of lovely hot homemade sausage rolls and lots of cakes to make the garden party complete!
David went through what we had achieved this morning and mentioned that we have a committee meeting coming up on Monday April 3rd. He also asked if anyone would like to go along next Friday to Broadlands in Oulton Broad and accept an RHS award on behalf of GWCP. We will be working back in Gunton wood next week and he will have the final details for the Cotswolds trip then. He also added that Circa 64 have a gig coming up on Saturday April 22nd at Blundeston, Terry has £5 tickets for this.
