A lovely morning for being outside, it really felt more like summer and less like winter, spring has definitely arrived! David had the tractor and trailer out today to shift chippings down to Moore's lane. It certainly holds a lot of chippings, making life easier for when we have to shift them a long way. Apart from the chipping gang, some of the ladies were splitting snowdrops. Not the best of jobs but the effect it will have next year makes it all worth while. The same probably applies to the pulling up of alexanders, which run rampant in the area. Although, we cannot eradicate them, we can try to keep them under control in the wood. Last but not least, we had a gang shifting logs to use as path edging - a never-ending job! We hope to soon have some large logs for edging as Waveney Norse are due to start their tree work in the wood in early April.
With coffee today we had a lovely and varied selection of homemade cakes from Bob and Linda.
David reminded us of the AGM coming up on Wed 19th April and the committee meeting on Monday afternoon. Yesterday he walked the main path down to Pleasurewood Hills with the contractor who had worked on the path last year, to see how feasible it would be to improve the surface all the way down to PwH. David also handed out final details for those going on the Cotswolds trip.
