A lovely bright morning and another good turnout. Today the main focus was on clearing up storm damage, we had several dead trees down and several branches hanging dangerously after the strong winds of the last few days. Apart from teams tidying up storm damage, some were also clearing the pond of weeds, they reported back that they found no life in the pond, this has happened once before and we think it is caused by fertilizer being used on the fields over the last few months finding it's way into the pond because of the heavy rain. Some were also planting more shrubs/trees in the area now known as "Wally's B&B". We had time to take down a small dead tree that has been waiting a long time, we also went down to the railway bridge and cleared a tree that several weeks ago had come down and blocked the path.
With coffee today we had a lovely selection of cakes from David (The Boss) for his birthday and some rock cakes from Ollie. We also had a visit from Barbara, back here from Devon to go on the GWCP Kent outing tomorrow. What a nice surprise and once again Barbara's voice rang out through the wood "coffeeeeeeeee".
