A chilly start today but still a really good turnout. The pond fence repairs were completed today, a much stronger fence now. We continued to tidy up the logs around the wood, shifting them all to one spot until we decide how to use them. The never-ending job of removing alexanders was continued by Barry today. A gang went to continue work on the railway path, nearly finished now, one more week should do it. The ladies went off to the B&B area to plant some yellow rattle, pull up nettles and water the plants and trees. They then turned their attention to the shrub area near the dog bin, watering the shrubs and pulling up most of the hundreds of sycamore seedlings.
With coffee today we had homemade sausage rolls, spicy cheesy bites and a delicious victoria sponge from Chris & Greg to celebrate Greg's birthday and to put his stamp on the celebration Greg had made the cheesy bites - nice one Greg.
David gave us a brief description of how the AGM had gone last night which lead on to mentioning the videos that are available on the website under the PHOTOS tab, a new one was added yesterday with photos from Wally and music from Chris. He told us that he has looked at resurfacing the main path from the pond down to Leisure Way, at a cost of roughly £6,500, he has written a letter to Gunton Hall asking them if they would contribute, he has also looked in to other ways of part funding the project. He also reminded us of the trip to Southwold on James's double decker bus on Saturday Aug 5th. Finally, Barry gave us a brief chat about the planning application for 17 homes on the land where the care home had been proposed previously, the land near the Travellodge.
