Another lovely day and lots of us out again. Lots of bits and pieces to do today, including - sorting out the ditch down at PwH, this will need to be finished off next week as it is blocked near the pit as well and the PwH's bridge needs the rods to clear it. David went down to Vinnie's bridge to see about the loose plank, it turns out it is the handrail that has rotted and will need replacing. Several people were digging up, removing Spanish bluebells, alexanders, cleavers and some were weeding path edges and around newly planted trees. The log pile in the BB area had a bit more work done to it, as did the vertical log pile and the log pile at the shrubbery. Then, what was left of the pile of logs near the coffee table was tidied up. A gang went off to the railway steps to make safe the "trip wire" fence at the boundary between PwH's land and the golf course. They put a wood fence at the bottom of the steps to stop people (children) running straight into the wire fence and also laid logs along the rest of the path to highlight the short wire fence there. Several leaning trees were cut down today, one on Moore's lane and three on the main path, we will tidy them up next week. No chipping of paths today and there was no Wally out, so sadly no photos.
With coffee today we had a lovely selection of homemade cakes and various biscuits to celebrate Carol's birthday a couple of weeks ago - Carol does make some excellent cakes, roll on next year!
David went through what work we had done today and what would need finishing off next week, he also gave us an update on trying to raise funding to have the main path properly surfaced all the way down to PwH. He asked if anyone was competent enough and willing to takeover John's online tasks while John was away on a cycling holiday.
