We had a small team out today, there were different teams working as usual. A team went to Foxburrow Wood to pull Himalayan Balsam and cut up a dead elm in the ditch at Monet Square. Also install a low fence at the bottom of the steps at Crome Walk bridge.
There was some chipping of the side paths. Another job was removing wood and duck weed from the pond. Also some repairs to the rear fence on the pond. The main job was to help John and Julie Moore pull and cut doc, hog weed from the B & B area and the meadow down Moore's lane.
Another group was cutting back the ivy on trees that were getting overgrown and becoming a sale effect on the tree.
David in his “listen up” thanked Rosemary for the cakes. He announced that there would be a team going over to Foxburrow Wood next week to finish clearing Himalayan Balsam from the ditch near Gainsborough Drive entrance to Foxburrow Wood. Meeting at Gainsborough Drive A12 /47 end for 9am. Then back to Gunton Wood for coffee.
He reminded the group about the Big Red bus trip on the 5th August, the Fish and chip bingo on the 7th September and apologized for the mistaken announcement about the Snape Christmas Show this year which he said was Alice in Wonderland but in fact it is The Land of OZ where the wicked witch steals Christmas.
Cakes today were provided by Rosemary for David’s birthday back in May.
