We had a long list of jobs to do today, priority was given to the wildflower meadow, cutting it and raking up the grass. This, along with the secet garden and the B&B area, cutting and raking off will be our priority until it is completed. We may need a final cut in November as the grass is still growing. Other jobs today included, continue painting the sheds with preservative, clearing duck weed from the pond, pegging down edging logs laid out last week, digging a hole for the new sump and trench for the water pipe - the sump will be concreted in on Monday. Also, a habitat was moved to a more central position.
We had sausage rolls and a lovely selection of cakes today provided by Roy. Roy unfortunately could not make it today so I had to have his!! Cheers Roy.
David in his “listen up” thanked Roy for the cakes. He then went on to remind us of various events coming up, the Bingo this evening, the Autumn Litter Pick on Sat Nov 11th, the first aid course next Thursday which means no workparty next week - all meet in St. Peter's church annexe at 10am for refreshments, the course will start at 10.30 for one hour. David also reminded us that there is still availability for the Snape trip in December. He is meeting with Waveney Norse on Monday to look at the black popular tree and a few elms that may need to be cut down. Following on from that he mentioned that the annual tree inspection is scheduled for Monday Oct 9th.
