Not too many out today, perhaps put off by the prospect of the rain that never materialised. The 5-bar gate was installed at the Pleasurewood Hill's end of the main path, we had put the gate posts in last week in anticipation, the gate did need a bit of tweaking to get it to fit! Some were sweeping leaves off the main path, also at the PwH's end of the main path, sadly due to lack of numbers we were not able to get very far with this. Barry was also clearing leaves, and duck weed, from the pond. The ladies were back in the ditch again, clearing it out, working from near the pond towards PwH. Some were working in Moore's lane, clearing an area.
With coffee today we had some lovely homemade cakes from Andrea for no reason at all - I guess she just loves baking!
In David's listen up he thanked Andrea for the cakes, he then went through the work we had done today and mentioned that although the 5-bar gate had been fitted today we still needed another barrier installed and more fencing down there. On Monday we cut down 12 trees for Pleasurewood Hills, last Saturday we tidied up the churchyard but there is still abit more work to be done there. This Saturday morning we will be cutting down 4 elm trees along Gunton Church Lane although it was pointed out that there is a GPRA meeting Saturday morning in the church annexe, the resident's association may be winding up after around 30 years. David also mentioned that there is a large dead elm in the wood behind the church that needs cutting down and was not picked up in the tree inspection. Finally, David talked about our post-Christmas meal, it's not been decided yet but it looks likely to be the Victoria on Thurs Jan 25th, there were several possible choices but the Victoria looked the best option, the committee will decide very soon.
