Today we finished the cleaning of bird boxes ready for Spring. Others were spreading wood chips across the paths, Colin G repaired damage to the fence around the pond and a few of the men tidied up where the holly tree had come down. The holly, a large tree in good condition came down earlier in the week across the path near the Murillo Drive entrance and was cleared on Wednesday by some of the men. We assumed it came down because it was in full foliage and the ground was saturated.
The weather was mild and dry and with coffee we had lots of cake provided by Barbara.
No Saturday work this weekend but next Wednesday the gang will be removing an Oak tree that was reported by a member of the public as dangerous, confirmed by Waveney Norse. The main trunk is splitting and will soon fall, causing a problem as it is very close to the path.
