On Friday Dec 14th :- Felling Sycamores and elms as discussed with the Ops Manager at Pleasure Wood Hills. The timber left in lengths to be transferred into Gunton Wood for path edging after Christmas.
On Saturday Dec 15th :- Work carried out today was work left from the tree inspection 2018. This included cutting down an elder that had fallen onto a hawthorn near the coffee area. We then transferred to woodhenge where a sycamore had fallen onto other trees this was safely dropped and the wood stored by the path as edging. Two other elms nearby were cut and left as habitat. The elm at the top of Moose’s Lane was felled and again left for path edging. The large willow in PWHs field had a large branch broken and it was hanging so this was cut and other branches that were likely to fall were cut off. The wood was stored in Moore’s Lane to be transferred for edging. The final tasks today was at the play park where there were several elms cut and also the large Ash tree that was leaning towards the play park. This was cut and made safe. The spoils were put onto a habitat. This now concludes all the work identified in the tree inspection for GWCP to carry out. The work left from PWHs land is still to do and will be tackled in the New Year.
