Not a big group today despite the weather being fine but a little colder. The whole group were mainly chipping with 2 tractors and trailers ferrying the chippings down Moore’s Lane. We managed to completely chip all of it. Some barrows were used to spread the side paths. Some work was done tidying the hedge where we cut it level and left some of the branches laying there. The repaired picnic table was returned to Church wood. A litter pick was done after coffee when some of the group carried on finishing Moore’s Lane.
With coffee today we had lovely hot sausage rolls and a choice of delicious homemade cakes, all provided by Chrissie to celebrate her birthday last Thurs when we all had the day off - that's so last year!
At listen up David wished all a Happy New Year and he thanked Christine for the sausage rolls and cakes. He reminded all that if they had not paid their balance for the dinner at the end of January it was now due. He also asked for volunteers to supply cakes for future WPs. He then said that the summer day trip would be on the 11th July to East Ruston Vicarage Gardens with a pub lunch at the Butchers Arms before going on to the gardens. Details would be following. There will be a Saturday WP in Pleasurewood Hills this coming Saturday, meeting at the main gate at 9.00 am. We will be felling Leylandii trees for them and the trunks will be used in the wood for edging.
