A lovely morning, again, for working in the wood and we had a large number out today. A group of us were replacing rotten path edging with fresh wood, others finding wood for stakes and others pegging down the edging. Some were chipping paths until the chips ran out! Also, the main entrance was tidied up and cleared of weeds. Richard's grandson joined us today as did Colin & Bev's grandaughter Hannah who is working with us as part of her Duke of Edinburgh bronze award. Barbara spotted a Stag beetle while working and managed to get a photo of it, we hope to build a vertical log pile in the wood this Autumn/Winter which should provide a habitat for the Stag beetle larvae.
With coffee today we had a lovely selection of homemade cakes for Max's 4th birthday and I was told that Max had helped make them!
Saturday work is postponed at the moment.
