A good turn out again and we needed it today as we had several tons of top soil to shift. We had asked the contractor working on the burial park if they could let us have some top soil to spread over the unofficial path leading into the famer's field and he kindly dumped two loads near the path. This path had been designated by the committee as an excellent place in the wood to plant new trees and shrubs. It was hard work and most of us quickly overheated, a bit different to spreading wood chips!
Also, we had a small group that finished off installing an excellent seat in the PwH meadow. I have tried it and can confirm it's as solid as a rock and very comfortable. We also had a small group coppicing and tidying habitats on the Church Wood/Burial Park border.
Today with coffee we had cakes from Eileen to celebrate being in her house on the estate for 8 years. Many thanks Eileen, any excuse for cake is good enough for us!
