A damp and dreary morning but we still had several workers out. We had a few things going on today :- chipping paths, repairing the fence at the end of Moore's lane, the wildflower meadow was cut with 3 mowers and a strimmer and John M finished off cutting the other side of the path, Julie was again removing some of the wild garlic, some new trees/shrubs were planted in an area near the school fence and the ladies continued clearing the Church wood ditch which is now nearly finished.
With coffee today we had an excellent selection of cakes provided by Candy (Moira's dog), Candy is 11 next week. Unfortunately neither Candy or Moira could make it today. However, the cakes were soon woofed down !
David reminded the group of the Litter Pick on Saturday Nov 7th and of the sponsored walk around the wood on Sunday Nov 15th to raise funds for guide dogs for the blind, he also mentioned that we should try to cut the Pleasurewood Hills hedge and mow the railway line next Thursday. David said that he would soon have the quotes for the main path work although a lottery grant was not possible there may be other grants available to cover this. On the social side, he mentioned that there are still a few calendars left, he now has the tickets for Snape, the Christmas meal is full, as is the May holiday and there may be another function in January but no details as yet.
