A bright but cold day today with a little light snow on the ground so only a small group out. A team worked putting the metal barrier in down at PwH's gate. This part of the project is now finished, only a few cosmetic touches needed when we have the materials. It is hoped that Suffolk Rights of Way will lay a top dressing along the footpath to the railway bridge. There was a flood at the main gate to PwHs about 1 foot deep, so we cut channels to drain the water away. A team worked at the new shed putting 2 posts at the door and fixed a cabin hook to fasten the gate back. Alan, Mo and Janet worked laying the hedge at Stubbs wood entrance. Ivor was raking and sweeping off leaves on the main path. There is an accumulation of mud, from the rotting leaves, which needs to be cleared as soon as we can.
To get us all in the festive mood, Julie provided hot mince pies - delicious!
David talked about the jobs done today, thanked Julie for the mince pies, then reminded us that there will be no more Saturday working until the new year. He mentioned the Snape show last week and that the tickets for next year’s production of The Nut Cracker were already on sale. He has reserved the same number again.
