Thurs July 11th : 49 members with some friends set off, on time, at 10.30am from Gunton Church lane. We travelled up to East Ruston for our pre-ordered pub lunch at the Butchers Arms. We arrived early as the traffic was so light through Great Yarmouth. The pub was not open but we went round to the back door which was open, they were all busy getting our lunches ready. Judy the Landlady called out “All hands to the bar”. We ordered our drinks and managed to sit out in the garden to enjoy them (not having to drive). The waitress came out before our allotted time and said our lunches were ready. At about 1.45 we boarded the coach to go the short distance to the Vicarage Gardens.
We were not disappointed because the gardens were in their full glory. By about 3.45 it was time for tea as most had had sufficient time to explore the gardens - Desert Garden, Wildflower meadows, Woodland sections as well as the traditional flower and plant areas.
We set off at 4pm for our journey back home after a super day out.
