Today we had 3 work parties on the go, the main group chipping Moore's Lane, a group removing a superfluous path on Moore's Lane and a group fixing the fencing around the pond. Although, for the pond fence, a repair to the hole has been done, it looks as if some restaking is necessary as some of the stakes are rotting. The path that has been removed will be planted with shrubs to encourage bees, birds, butterflies and other insects.
Today with coffee we had a selection of cakes provided by Ken to celebrate his birthday.
After coffee, David and John met a group from Lowestoft College doing a Foundation Course, 15 students and 6 tutors. David did a guided tour of Gunton Wood for them, explaining about our project, Gunton Wood and the surrounding area. We hope to see them back again in the summer.
