Another good turnout this week. David, Barry and a few others went off to Foxburrow to continue clearing undergrowth from the pathways in preparation of laying type1 stones, on the worst sections, in early December. No chippings this week but we hope to have some for next week. The ladies headed off to the ditch, down at Pleasurewood Hills end, to unblock several places that had clogged up with leaves. I briefly joined them and could not believe how much they were clearing out of the ditch, at least 20 wheelbarrow loads! It was tough dirty work, so I quickly made my excuses and got back to shifting logs - much easier. We continued creating a "living willow/hazel fence" around the pond, continued shifting logs for path edging and staking down edging put down last week. We also cut down a couple of small dead trees that had been marked during the tree inspection. No Wally this week so, sadly, no photos.
With coffee today we had a magical selection of cakes that the "wood fairies" had brought! Some were surprised by that but I thought it was "fairy nuff" :-)
David explained what work had been going on in Foxburrow and why, he also mentioned the options we had to get the railway path cut and about getting a sump so we can finish the work on the feed into the pond.
