A dull but dry morning brought many workers out. We had a varied list of jobs to do today so we split into several smaller groups. We had one tractor and trailer out bringing logs up from the bottom of the main path to where we can use them for path edging. We only have one load left to shift now. Path edging continued along the Murillo Drive-Gunton Church Lane path and this will continue for the foreseeable future! Work on the new conservation area continued, removing one of the new habitats from the wood to this area. At the moment we are just moving materials to the area before we start the building process. Chrissy & Greg continued sorting & tidying the nursery. The ladies started with deadheading daffodils in B&B area before doing a bit of litter picking, a bit of ditch clearing and some weeding(sound like they couldn't make their minds up what to do). A team went to Foxborrow Woods to clear paths of encroaching /overhanging obstructions. They reported back that this is now complete for now. The fencing gang made a start on using panels to enclose the the chipping area near the main gate, they have put up posts for the panels. Alan continued removing Spanish Bluebells & hybrids and John & Julie were planting out wild flower plants in Moore's Lane.
With coffee today we had a lovely selection of cakes from Brian for his birthday tomorrow, the same day as our chair David. Although, as pointed out (a few times ) by Brian, he is a year younger than David!
As David was away our Vice Chair, Andrew, did the listen up. He started by thanking Brian for the cakes and went on to list the work we had done today. He mentioned that the Residents Association (GPRA) are organising another litter pick this Saturday, details from their newsletter state "the next litter pick will start at 09.30 hrs. at either Dip Farm pitch and putt car park or Dip Farm football car park area. Please bring your own gloves but tabards, litter pickers, hoops and bags will all be provided". He went on to tell us that Waveney Norse had agreed to pay for John W to do a 3-day chainsaw course, dates to be arranged. He finished off by letting us know that next week, due to so many of the committee not being available, Andrea had agreed to do the "listen up".
