We had a several teams working today. A team went to Foxburrow Wood to pull Himalayan Balsam and clear the ditch at the End of Gainsborough drive. We hope that is now clear for this year.
There was some chipping of Moore’s Lane using the tractor and trailer as well as using the wheel barrows. Another job was removing yet more wood and duck weed from the pond. Also some repairs to the fence on the pond. Another team helped John and Julie Moore pull and cut doc, hog weed from the meadow down Moore's lane. Another group were cutting back the ivy on trees that were getting overgrown and becoming a sale effect on the tree.
Cakes today were provided by Julie and John Moore.
David in his “listen up” thanked John & Julie for the cakes. He announced that the work in Foxburrow Wood was finished for the time being. He also announced the surprise donation from Comic Relief of £500 towards the main path work. He also said The Suffolk Foundation, who had arranged the grants towards the project, had spotted an error in our Constitution in that Clause 18 & 19 mention the Group BTCV but they have changed their name to TCV. They want us to update the document at our earliest convenience. I proposed to the group that rather than hold an EAGM we do it either by email to the members or just hold a special WP meeting where we put the changes to that meeting and ask for votes "for". I would discuss it with the committee and possibly hold this next week or do by email. We need a quorum of 10% of the members which is about 20- 30.
He reminded the group about the Big Red bus trip on the 5th August, the Fish and chip bingo on the 7th September, the Snape Christmas Show this year and the first Aid talk on the 14th September.
